Animal sightings in hospitals have become a common thing nowadays. Or at least, that’s what it looks like when you read the news.
Recently a video was shared on the internet, showing a stray dog sleeping on govt hospital bed in Agra. The video was shot in SN Medical College inside one of the common patient wards.
When did this happen?
The incident occurred on Saturday evening when a stray dog was found laying on a hospital bed of TB and Chest ward of SNMC. In the video, it is clearly visible that the ward was not empty. Almost ten other patients were sharing the same room. Some of them even had their oxygen masks on.
When asked around from the people visiting the hospital, they said that it is a very common sight for them. Often, they have spotted monkeys, dogs, and mice wandering inside the hospital premises.
The current scenario:
On one end, everyone is busy discussing and debating the results of the recent election, about the government. But on the other end, seeing government hospital in a condition like this makes us wonder, ‘Did government actually work? Or they just made a fool of everyone?’ Whatever is captured in the video, considering health standards, is not acceptable at all.
This video of dog sleeping on govt hospital bed in Agra, with no nurse or staff present anywhere near the ward to take care of the patients has raised a very big concern. Even though higher authorities are saying that they will take required action, the main point is that it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
After all, are we seriously going to tolerate strays sleeping on a hospital bed?
The superintendent in-charge of SNMC, Dr. SK Majumdar declared that they will investigate the video. He said suitable action will be taken against the nurse who was on duty and the staff for their carelessness. Authorities have also sent a letter to the MCD of Agra, as these stray animals are causing a lot of trouble in the hospital. Let’s see how this goes.
