The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) instructed Paytm to stop taking deposits and top-ups from any clients after February 29, therefore users of the highway are now encouraged to purchase FASTags from 32 authorized banks rather than Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL).
The final deadline has been moved up to March 15; after that, Paytm FASTags will not function. However, under the frequently asked questions (FAQs) released by the RBI, customers will be able to close their previous FASTag and get a refund.
“It is suggested that you procure a new FASTag issued by another bank before March 15, 2024, to avoid any inconvenience,” the FAQs stated.
Process For Deactivating A Paytm FASTag?
- To close your present Paytm FASTag account, enter your mobile number and Tag ID.
- Call 1800-120-4210 and provide your registered mobile number (FASTag) to do the same.
- Add your tag ID or vehicle registration number (VRN) to it.
- A Paytm customer service representative will thereafter get in contact.
Another Method To Disable Your Paytm FASTag
- Click “Help & Support” after clicking on the profile symbol in the Paytm app.
- Choose “FASTag” from the “Banking Services & Payments” section, then click “Chat with us.”
- To finish the procedure, ask the executive to deactivate the account.
Steps To Buy A New FASTag
First Method
- Install the “My FASTag” application.
- To purchase the tag, click the “Buy FASTag” link, which will take you to an online store.
- Buy the FASTag, and it will be sent to you.
Second Method
- Select “Activate FASTag” from the “My FASTag” app.
- Choose from Flipkart and Amazon.
- Enter the vehicle’s information and FASTag ID.
- It will then become operational.
Third Method
Membership banks such as Airtel Payments Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank are also retailers of FASTags.
