Elon Musk Legally Can’t Name His Son X Æ A-12 Musk, Here’s Why

By now you must have been aware of Elon Musk naming his newborn X Æ A-12 Musk. And if you are alien about it, then you can check out this story.

Elon Musk revealed the name on twitter when a user asked him what they can call the boy. As Tesla chief Elon Musk and his musician girlfriend Grimes revealed that they have decided to name the boy X Æ A-12 Musk, the internet flooded with memes about the same.

Later, Grimes took on Twitter to explain the name and it goes something like this.

X’ stands for “the unknown variable, ‘AE’ is the musician’s ‘elven spelling of Ai (love &/or artificial intelligence),’ ‘A-12’ is, as gathered, a reference to the Lockheed A-12, the ‘precursor to [the] SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defences, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent, she explains.

However, happens to be, the couple can’t legally name their child X Æ A-12 Musk.

TMZ spoke to an official in the Department of Public Health Vital Records Office and they said that such names with special characters are not allowed to have special as per Los Angeles laws.

People magazine interviewed a family attorney who said that names can only have twenty-six characters of the English language and special characters and numericals aren’t permitted.

So even if Musk doesn’t want to, he will have to name his son something else fo the record.
