EPFO Alert: To Prevent Big Losses, Link The PF Account With Aadhaar. Here’s How?

To avert any loss, EPFO’s new regulation requires everyone to connect their PF systems with the Aadhaar cards as soon as possible.

If you work and have a Provident Fund (PF) account with the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), you should know that it is now required to connect your Aadhaar with your current PF account as soon as possible.

Each PF account holder has a Universal Account Number (UAN) for the account into which their monthly PF payment is deposited. If you haven’t connected your PF account to Aadhaar, your monthly PF payment may be delayed significantly.

“In partial modification of the Circular No. WSU/15(1)2019/ATR/529 dated 15.06.2021 under reference, it is hereby informed that the date of completing the seeding and verification of Aadhaar with UAN is hereby extended until 30.11.2021, and accordingly, the date in Para 1 of the referred Circular dated 15.06.2021 mentioned as 01.09.2021 may be read as 01.12.2021,” EPFO said in its latest notice.

Previously, the deadline for doing so was November 15. If you haven’t yet connected your EPFO account to your Aadhaar, you may do so in one of three ways by following the procedures outlined above.

Using the UMANG app, link your Aadhaar to your PF account.

  • The UMANG app is available on Google Play and Apple iOS.
  • Tap the ‘eKYC services’ option after clicking on the EPFO link.
  • On the app, choose the ‘Aadhaar Seeding’ option.
  • Type in the OTP issued to your registered cellphone number and your UAN number.
  • Input your Aadhaar card information as well as the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked phone number. The Aadhaar-UAN relationship will now be complete.

EPFO’s website may be used to link Aadhaar to a PF account.

  • epfindia.gov.in is the EPFO’s official website.
  • Choose the eKYP option from the online services menu.
  • Enter the OTP received to your registered cellphone number by clicking on ‘Link UAN Aadhaar.’
  • Now, input your Aadhaar number and the OTP issued to the Aadhaar-linked phone number.
  • The UAN and Aadhaar will be connected after the verification is completed.

Offline, link your Aadhaar to your PF account.

  • Complete the Aadhaar Seeding registration form at the EPFO office.
  • Fill out the form with your UAN and Aadhaar numbers.
  • All relevant papers, such as a self-attested PAN, Aadhaar, and UAN, should be attached.
  • Submit the form to the office and await the results of the verification procedure.
  • You will get a notification on your mobile phone once your Aadhaar and UAN have been connected.
