Actress Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel sparked another controversy and literally got her Twitter account suspended on Thursday after she made a tweet targeting Jamatis and a particular section of the society.
In a tweet, a screenshot of which is going the rounds, Rangoli targeted the Muslim community in reaction to an incident in Moradabad where a team of doctors and police were pelted with stones when they went there to quarantine the family of the person who died of coronavirus. As the tweet was made, a lot of criticism came towards Rangoli.
Stars like Hrithik Roshan and deisgner Farah Khan Ali also slammed Rangoli for her foul words. Filmmaker Reema Kagti even wrote to Mumbai Police demanding action against Rangoli.
Actress Kubbra Sait also wrote that she had blocked Rangoli and filed a report to Twitter. “I’ve blocked Rangoli and reported her to twitter. But @MumbaiPolice @CMOMaharashtra @OfficeofUT This kind of hate mongering is irresponsible,” tweeted the actress on her verified handle, @kubbrasait.
However, some people were also seen supporting Rangoli who termed Twitter action as hypocrisy. Sonam Mahajan responding to Farah’s tweet wrote that people like Farah Khan Ali shouldn’t talk about hate speech as she, over time, has also incited violence among communities through her tweets.
Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli is an acid attack survivor who is known to take up issues on the actress’s behalf on social media.
