Ex-Agniveers Will Get Relaxations in Railway Jobs, Here are the Details

The Indian Railways will provide major assistance to Ex-Agniveers, by offering 15 per cent reservation in non-gazetted posts in various departments under direct recruitment via direct recruitment. The authority has also planned to provide age relaxation along with fitness test exemptions, as mentioned by NDTV as per their sources.

In addition to the above benefits Railways may also offer a reservation policy to ex-engineers in Railway Protection Force (RPF).

“The reservation provided by the Railways — 10 per cent in Level 1 and five per cent in Level 2 and above non-gazetted posts — will be in the nature of horizontal reservation as in the case of Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), ex-servicemen and Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs),” mentioned by NDTV

Agniveers will be exempted from the physical efficiency tests and offered an age relaxation of five years for the first batch and three years for subsequent batches. This will be applicable over the existing age limit for the candidates of different categories for Level-1, Level-2 and above posts.

As per sources quoted by NDTV, “The Railway Board has issued letters to all General Managers asking them to provide these relaxation/facilities in recruitment by Railway Recruiting Agencies (Railway Recruitment Boards/Railway Recruitment Cells) from open market in Pay Level-1 and Pay Level-2 and above non-gazetted posts to those Agniveers who successfully complete four years in the forces.”
