Facebook Inc on Monday unveiled a new company logo that it said would help it distinguish it from the products it owns. The new logo will help “create a visual distinction between the company and the app”.
Facebook has said that it will use the logo within its products including, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and more. This, as per Antonio Lucio – the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Facebook – would help people know that the products, like WhatsApp and Instagram, that they are using have been made by Facebook.
The new logo will replace the currently enabled “WhatsApp From Facebook” in the WhatsApp app and “Instagram From Facebook” in the Instagram app. The new logo will also be seen on the settings page of the app.
Facebook, however, has not spilled the beans about the official release date of the logo. However, it has hinted the rollout of the same in the “coming weeks”.
