Pretty Preity Zinta faces harsh comments from her fans after commenting on #meetoo in an interview.
This revolutionary moment has already gained the attention of the entire world. Women are sharing their stores of sexual harassment that they have faced in their particular industry.
First of all, in India, this moment started through Bollywood. And when a Bollywood star comments, that feels demeaning and internet starts to backlash these people.
Recently Bollywood Hungama posted an interview of Preity Zinta on their YouTube channel. In which Preity was commenting on the #meetoo moment.
When asked if she ever faced any sort of harassment, she said, “No, I haven’t. I wish I had and at least then, I would have had an answer to tell you. No, and that’s what I am saying that this is a very relevant question because people treat you the way you want to be treated.”
Certainly, it seems like that the actress doesn’t know what she is talking.
In her interview, she has also remarked Bollywood as one of the safest industries to work. Furthermore, she said, some women were using the movement “for personal vendetta or for publicity.”
In her, 5-minute interview, Preity continued and said that someone once told her, “Aaj ki sweetu kal ki #MeToo ho sakti hai.”
How internet reacted to this?
Preity Zinta is quite popular and that’s why people didn’t expect comments like these. As a result, after watching her interview, Twitter is showing no mercy on this pretty actress.
Cringing and embarrassed as I watch this Preity Zinta Interview.
1. She filed a case of molestation against Ness Wadia in 2014. Yet, she says she’s never had a #MeToo moment?
2. @iFaridoon stop capitalising on this movement for views! First Rakhi Sawant, now this. STOP! https://t.co/YnHl1UtEib

Didn’t expect such a disgusting comment from her. Making a joke out of such a revolutionary movement for women as woman herself is despicable. Please educate yourself before you utter such rubbish to stay relevant in the news. #preityzinta #metoo https://t.co/xEbLYAVEls

In her defence, she replied the netizens on Twitter by saying “Really sad to see how the interview is edited to trivialis & be insensitive. Not everything is traction & as someone being interviewed, I expected decency & maturity froma journalist @iFaridoon. I did 25 interviews that day & only yours turned out edited like this #dissappointed.” It seems like she’s been blaming the media just to save herself.

Certainly, She used some harsh sentences but the main point that Preity was trying to make was that many women are trying to take advantage of this #meetoo moment. But from her past reactions, I can say Preity knows what is right and what is wrong. She has even testified herself against the underworld. And because of that, I think it is safe to give her the benefit of doubt.
