Foods To Eat If You Have Auto Immune Diseases

Auto immune diseases come under a health problem where immune system of body becomes over active and starts attacking healthy cells of your body. This causes swelling, damage to joints, inflammation. If kept unchecked it can start damaging vital organs of body including heart, kidney, lungs and skin. The best way to control auto immune diseases is with lifestyle and dietary habits.

Start eating foods that reduce inflammation and make your body strong. It also helps you in maintaining good body weight. People who suffer from auto immune diseases often fail to maintain weight and suffer from loss of appetite and weight.

If you are a vegetarian then you don’t have to worry about sources of Omega3. There are tones of vegetarian sources of omega3 fatty acids like edamame, kidney beans, walnuts, flaxseeds, soyabean. These foods contain alpha linolenic acid which gets converted into EPA and DHA. You will get all the anti-inflammatory benefits that you get from eating fish.

Whole Grains

People who suffer from auto immune diseases should not eat refined flour and should prefer eating whole grains like bulgur, barley, oats, quinoa, rice and whole grain breads. It provides you with fibre and it is a good source of biotin.
