Forbes, the master of wealth calculator has said in a report that Mukesh Ambani is no longer Asia’s richest man. The crown has been taken by popular industrialist, Gautam Adani. With a total wealth of 90.1 billion dollars Adani has become richest man in India and Asia. He has also become 10th richest man in the world. Ambani is now 100 million dollars behind Adani and this is just a small difference.
It is always a tricky affair to calculate the total wealth of these big fishes as their portfolios and businesses are enormous. This being said because Bloomberg Wealth Index still considers Ambani as richest man in India and Asia and Adani has a second spot Ambani and Adani has recently surpassed Mark Zukerberg, owner and founder of Meta in wealth index.

What’s the big deal you must be thinking? But there is a big catch here. Ambani has been the richest man in India past 14 years. No one could ever surpass him except for once. One time Dilip Sanghavi, pharmaceutical king surpassed Ambani in wealth index but that was for a very brief period of time. And Ambani was always ahead with such a huge difference among his contemporaries that no one thought that anyone could match his growth. Gautam Adani is a self-made man who has been in picture very recently. If he remains to be India’s richest man for long time then it would be a surprise for corporate world.
Adani has been showing exponential growth day and night which is attracting eyes on him. In April 2021, Forbes calculated Adani’s wealth to be around 50 billion dollars. In nearly nine months the wealth of Gautam Adani has sky rocketed and has reached almost double. These numbers came to life when Indian economy is in a stagnant phase and businesses are finding it difficult to grow. Adani has been expanding his business into green energy, airports, ports, power plants and mines. Adani Green Energy stocks have doubled in less than a year and the company has been showing profits in quarter results.
