Get a Driving license (DL) At Your Home In Delhi: Here Are The Things To Know

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has launched the faceless transport services in Delhi on 11 August. With the help of this initiative, 33 transport services including vehicle registration, online learner’s driving license tests, permits, and more are now completely online and faceless. He said that the faceless transport services will be a revolutionary step for 21st Century in India.

Arvind Kejriwal says “It is a revolutionary step. There will be no files, no offices anymore. Everything can be done through a computer from one’s house. There is no need to approach brokers and middlemen too. People will have to come to the office for driving tests and vehicle fitness tests though. It is a big step for India in the 21st Century and to be soon happening all over India. As Transport minister said, that true independence will be obtained the day people are free from offices, middlemen, queues and files.”

PTI reports that more than 60% of e-learning driving license applicants have already received their documents. Under the eLL facility, more than 8,647 applications were received till Tuesday. Out of which, 5,210 have successfully passed the online driving tests. Additionally, more than 2,700 failed to appear in the test.”

Important Things You Should Know About eLL

  1. Under this feature, people can now apply for an online test for learners’ driving licences from home.
  2. Moreover, applicants must have important to have a valid Aadhaar card to use this service. Get complete your KYC with a One-Time-Password. Documents and e-sign can be verified through Aadhaar authentication.
  3. Applicants not having an Aadhaar card may apply online. Of course, it will need to upload a few necessary documents, photos and signatures.
  4. People can opt for a faceless service just by logging on to transport.delhi.gov.in. Then, apply for the required documentation and pay the fee online.
  5. Generally, there are three phases of the application. Firstly, applications get screened, document verification and applications and documents are approved by the motor licensing officers or motor vehicle inspector for further processing. The second phase includes the dispatch to the applicant through speed post. The third phase allows you to download it using a link sent to them through an SMS on their registered mobile number.
