While cinema halls would be empty in this time of the pandemic (maybe even if they open) Over the top (OTT) platforms are the new destination for movie lovers. What ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ did as a first is now going to be normal for the upcoming big-budget movies.
From Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb to Ajay Devgan’s Bhuj 7 big Bollywood’s upcoming movies would stream first on the digital platform. It is highly expected that the 7 big movies would stream on Disney+Hotstar. Disney+Hotstar is also going to make a big announcement today at 4:30 PM which is expected to be this only.
This news comes after Mukesh Bhatt’s Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer ‘Sadak 2’ was announced to go OTT. “We haven’t made this film to put it in lock and key. We want to bring it to people”, said Bhatt. Recently late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie Dil Bechara was also announced to be released on Disney+ Hotstar. As a tribute to Sushant, the movie would be open to all the subscribers and non-subscribers of the platform. It is to release on 24th July.
Apart from Bhuj, Laxmmi Bomb, and Sadak 2, Abhishek Bachchan’s The Big Bull based on the life of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Dugal starer comedy Lootcase, and Vidyut Jammwal’s Khuda Haafiz are expected to go on the platform. Things would be more clear after today’s announcements on the Disney + Hotstar.
