To make commuting safer for people, Google is reportedly developing a feature to show brightly lit roads on its app Google Maps. First spotted by XDA Developers, the new feature named ‘Lighting’ will highlight well-lit streets with yellow colour. The code was found inside Maps beta version 10.31.0.

Nevertheless, there is information on how the new feature will look like or when it would be released worldwide. The new feature is expected to be tested first in India. This comes after Google earlier had launched ‘Stay Safer’ feature which, alerts commuter if the driver strays away from the expected route.
