Government Tells Delhi HC; Whatsapp Using Tricks To Make People Accept Its Privacy Policy

The controversy against WhatsApp’s new privacy policy does not seem to come to an end soon. The newest WhatsApp policy which was introduced in January this year has made the Centre and WhatsApp face-to-face in the Delhi High Court. As per the latest affidavit, the Centre told Delhi High Court that WhatsApp is now using different tricks to make the users accept their privacy policy.

On Thursday, the Centre filed a new affidavit in which it claimed that WhatsApp is using anti-users practices and trick consent for users to accept their policy. ANI says that the Centre has filed a new affidavit in the Delhi High Court against WhatsApp.

Moreover, ANI added that the government has also alleged that the way WhatsApp is pushing its current notifications to its users to accept its refreshed privacy policy is “against the very grain of prima facie opinion of the Competition Commission of India’s order dated March 24, 2021.”
