Group Captain Varun Singh, who was lone survivor of December 8 chopper crash passed away.
December 8 Indian Air Force Mi-17V5 helicopter crash took away lives of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Dr. Madhulika Rawat and 11 other Defense personnel near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.
Group Captain Varun Singh was suffering from serious injuries including 90 percent burns. He was suffering from Hypovolaemia which majorly causes loss of fluid in the body. The condition led to multiple organ failure.
Last Thursday he was shifted to Command Hospital, Bengaluru from Wellington in Tamil Nadu.
Several political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Home Minister Amit Shah, MP Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and others came forward to express their deep condolences.
Chief of Army Staff General MM Navarane and other officers of India Army also expressed their grief on death of Group Captain Varun Singh.
