Cyclone Taukate is on its way. IMD says that the coastal areas of Karnataka, Goa, Mumbai, and Rajasthan are likely to get hit by the cyclone. As per the ground report, at least six people died in Goa and Karnataka. The Cyclone Tauktae intense into a severe cyclonic storm.
Till now, Gujarat has braced for the impact of the storm as Cyclone Tauktae. It is hurtling northwards towards the state on Monday evening. On Sunday, heavy rainfall, gale-force winds, and high tidal waves have swept the coastal belt of Karnataka, Kerala, and Goa. It has damaged hundreds of houses, uprooting trees and electricity poles, and forcing evacuation in low-lying areas.

Today, on Tuesday, the IMD issued an orange alert for Mumbai. It also warned of severe heavy rains in isolated places with strong winds.
