On Friday #BoycottOla was seen popping up amongst the top 5 trends on Twitter. If you wonder what the cab aggregator has done wrong then here is an answer. A man who used Ola’s services complained to them on Twitter.

Rider starts convo. Driver airs his views. Rider hates his views. Using his privilege and SM access, rider reports driver to employer. Ola obliges by punishing the poor driver.

The man named Kanav Sharma alleged that the Ola cab driver commented while he was having a conversation with someone. He further said that the driver misbehaved as he criticized the Modi government.

On his complaint (on Twitter) Ola apologized and promised to take a strict action against the driver. This response from Ola went wrong with the Twitteratis. They blamed Ola of curtailing its employee’s opinion.

Many trended the hashtag and said that they would never avail its services again. Ola, however, has not said that it would remove the driver from its network.
