“We have won the battle”: Here’s How New Zealand Won The Fight Against Coronavirus In Just 4 Weeks

“We have won the battle”

These were the words of the New Zealand Prime Minister who claims that the country is now coronavirus-free. Jacinda Ardern said that “there is no widespread, undetected community transmission in New Zealand”.

As per the reports, New Zeland had implemented lockdown with Level four restrictions. This means, only essential services were allowed to operate in the country with strict restrictions on any other kind of service.

And now that has been successful, Level 5 restrictions have been eased down to Level 3. This will allow more business and public institutions to operate.

“Everyone wants to bring back the social contact that we all miss. But to do it confidently we need to move slowly and we need to move cautiously,” PM went on to say.

New Zealand, in the last 24 hours, had reported only one new case of coronavirus. The total number of cases stands at 1122 with 19 deaths in total.

As per officials, New Zealanders were able to win the battle against coronavirus because they put into action at an early stage. Contingency plans were put well ahead so there was no lack of resources when an emergency arose. Confirmed cases were put in quarantine early so that the spreading was put in check.

This way New Zealand kept the situation under control and now are moving ahead to lift the lockdown slowly and steadily.
