Indian Railways to Operate 15 Holi Special Trains

With only a few days till the Holi celebrations begin, Indian Railways’ North Division wants to operate around 15 more trains. The Indian Railways has issued schedules, tickets, and itineraries for the Holi Special Trains. Almost six trains are expected to depart from Delhi, connecting cities like Katra, Varanasi, and Saharanpur to other destinations.

Aside from that, the Indian Railways has announced that a train will run from Saharsa to Ambala, as well as numerous more from Patna and Gaya to Anand Vihar in Delhi. According to the schedules, certain trains going through Dhanbad, Jharkhand, will stop at three stations in Bihar.

In another development, the Central Railway has announced that it will conduct 112 Holi special train services to accommodate the high volume of passengers during the festival season in March 2024.

The train schedule includes LTT Mumbai-Banaras Weekly Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Danapur Bi-Weekly Superfast Specials (6 services), LTT Mumbai-Samastipur Weekly Superfast Specials (4 services), LTT Mumbai-Prayagraj Weekly Superfast AC Specials (8 services), and LTT Mumbai-Thivim Weekly AC Specials (6 services).

List of Holi 2024 Special Trains Number And Route

  • Train 04033 will travel between New Delhi and Udhampur, departing from New Delhi on March 22 and 29.
  • Train 04034 would travel from Udhampur to New Delhi on March 23 and 30, with stops at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, and Jammu Tawi.
  • Another special train for Vaishno Devi will depart from New Delhi on March 24 and 31, running twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. From March 25 to April 1, the train will travel twice a week on Thursdays and Mondays.
  • From March 21 to 30, the Holi special trains from Delhi to Varanasi will run three days a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
  • More trains from Varanasi to Delhi will operate three times a week between March 22 and March 31, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
  • Another Holi special train will travel once a week from Katra to Varanasi, departing on Sundays and returning on Tuesdays.
  • Another special train from Howrah to Banaras will depart on March 23 and stop at Durgapur, Asansol, Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Arrah, Buxar, Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, and Varanasi.
  • Another Holi special train will travel from Delhi to Tundla, Panipat, and Agra every day between March 21 and March 24.
