Important Dates To Remember For Tax Calender For March 2024

Important dates for taxes, such as filing income tax returns, paying advance taxes, and deducting taxes at source, are listed in the tax calendar that the Income Tax Department (IT department) provides. Penalties and late fees may be imposed for missing these deadlines.

Tax Calendar For March 2024

March 7, 2024

February 2024 is the deadline for depositing taxes that have been deducted or collected. However, any money that a government agency deducts or collects must be sent to the central government’s account on the same day that taxes are paid, even if an income tax challan is not produced.

15 March 2024

  • Fourth advance tax installment for the 2024–2025 assessment year
  • The deadline for the assesses covered by the presumed scheme of section 44AD / 44ADA to pay the full amount of advance tax about the assessment year 2024–2025
  • The deadline for a government agency to file Form 24G in cases where TDS/TCS for February 2024 has been paid without a challan being produced

16 March 2024

  • The due date for submitting a TDS certificate for taxes deducted by Section 194-IA is January 2024
  • The due date for the provision of a TDS certificate for taxes deducted in January 2024 under section 194-IB
  • The due date for the provision of the TDS certificate for taxes deducted in January 2024 under section 194M
  • The due date for issuing a TDS certificate for taxes deducted (by a designated person) under section 194S is January 2024

30 March 2024

  • The due date for submitting a challan-cum-statement about taxes withheld under section 194-IA is February 2024
  • The due date for submitting a challan-cum-statement about taxes withheld under section 194-IB in February of 2024​
  • The due date for submitting a challan-cum-statement about taxes deducted under section 194M is February 2024
  • The due date for submitting a challan-cum-statement about taxes withheld under section 194S (by a designated person) is February 2024

31 March 2024

  • A parent entity or alternate reporting entity residing in India submitted a country-by-country report in Form No. 3CEAD for the preceding year 2022–2023 on the international group of which it is a constituent.
  • A constituent entity living in India shall submit a country-by-country report in Form No. 3CEAD for a reporting accounting year regarding the international group of which it is a constituent, provided that the parent entity is not required to file a report under section 286(2) or lives in a nation with which India does not have an agreement for the exchange of reports, etc.
  • Uploading a statement (Form 67) detailing foreign income subject to taxation and the amount of tax deducted or paid on it in the preceding year 2022–2023 to get a foreign tax credit, provided that the income return is provided within the timeframe outlined in Section 139(1) or Section 139(4).
  • Delivering a revised income return for the assessment year 2021–2022.
