Income Tax Department Launches New and Improved Website For Enhanced Taxpayer Experience

In an effort to improve the taxpayer experience and connect with new technological trends, the Income Tax Department has launched a new and improved website. The new website, according to the Ministry of Finance, has a user-friendly layout, as well as value-added functions and additional modules.

The revamped website was unveiled at the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems)’s ‘Chintan Shivir’ event in Udaipur. The upgraded website was formally introduced during the occasion by Nitin Gupta, Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

The website also has a ‘Taxpayer Services Module’ with many tax tools to assist taxpayers in filing their income tax forms.

The new website has been artistically redesigned and now has a mobile-responsive layout. The website now has a content ‘Mega Menu’ with new features and functionality. All of these new elements are described to visitors to the website via a guided virtual tour and new button indications.

Users can now compare various acts, sections, norms, and tax treaties thanks to newly introduced functionality. To make navigating easier, all relevant material on the site is now labeled with income tax sections.

The dynamic due date alert capability includes reverse countdowns, tooltips, and connections to appropriate websites to assist taxpayers in meeting their compliance responsibilities. 

According to the ministry, the new website is another endeavor to deliver increased taxpayer services, and it will continue to educate taxpayers and promote tax compliance.
