International Flights Ban Amid Covid Surge: DGCA

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) extends the suspension of all international flights from and to India till February 28. The decision comes after observ9ing rise in number of Covid cases in the country.

The circular released by Directorate General of Civil Aviation stated, “The competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of February 28, 2022.”

However, international flights that are flying under air bubble arrangements will continue to operate regularly.

India has bilateral ties for operation of bubble arrangement flights with 28 countries. These flights will be special international passenger flights. The countries with ties are Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Canada, Bahrain, Germany, France, Maldives, Iraq, Japan, UAE, Qatar, Nigeria, USA, UK, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kuwait, Kenya, Oman, Russia, Netherlands, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Seychelles.
