BCCI Suspends IPL 2021 Due To Covid-19 Cases Among Supporting Staffs and Players 

After postponing of Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals match, BCCI has canceled all the upcoming IPL 2021 matches till further notice. 

BCCI suspends IPL 2021 amid the rise of Covid-19 cases among players and support staff. Previously, the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders also rescheduled on Monday after Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy tested Corona positive.

On Tuesday, wicketkeeper-batsman Wridhimman Saha playing for SRH tested positive for the deadly virus before the MI vs SRH match. For Delhi, Veteran spinner Amit Mishra also tested positive in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

“The BCCI would like to thank all the healthcare workers, state associations, players, support staff, franchisees, sponsors, partners, and all the service providers who have tried to their best to organize IPL 2021 even in these extremely difficult times,” IPL said in its official statement.

Many players including Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Andrew Tye, and Liam Livingstone have returned to their countries in the mid of the tournament.

Initially, there was a panic between Australian players, commentators, and support staff involved in the IPL 2K21 when the Australian government suspended all direct flights from India.
