IPL 2022 Promo Released, CSK To Open Season With KKR

BCCI has announced on Friday that IPL 2022 will be played in two groups where each Group will contain 5 teams from the franchise. The season will start from March 26 and finale will be played on May 29. Complete schedule of the matches has not been revealed yet.

Every cricket fan is excited for the season to start and the first game will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Last year CSK played finale with KKR and CSK defeated to win the title of the season for fourth time in fourteen seasons of the game.

A BCCI official told InsideSport website that, β€œIPL will start with CSK vs KKR match. We have not made any changes to the existing norms of defending champions playing the first match next season. There will be 25% crowd present for the matches initially.”

Star Sports launched IPL 2022 promo that features CSK Captain MS Dhoni in a new look and fans have gone crazy. Dhoni is dressed like a bus driver in khaki shirts and pants. Star Sports did not release entire video but just a 9 second teaser of his look. Last year MS Dhoni took avatar of a monk giving cricket lessons to his students.

It’s less than a month in start of the season and matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune at four different venues for over a period of two months. The decision to play matches in just two cities was taken as a measure to prevent spread of Covid-19 infection.

Fans are also excited to see performance of two new franchise, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022.
