The Calcutta HC on Friday withdrew the interim protection from arrest of former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar. Announcing the order the court said that “blanket protection of not arresting is not available in law and would amount to unnecessary interfering with the investigation.” Rajeev Kumar is being probed in the investigations related to Saradha scam. The CBI court granted him the protection from arrest during the initial investigation in relation to the case.
