Kerala, famous for its educational advancements, has taken another creative step by introducing Iris, the state’s first generative artificial intelligence teacher. Iris, developed in partnership with Makerlabs Edutech Private Limited, represents a significant step forward in the integration of artificial intelligence into education.
Iris, a humanoid, was introduced at KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram to improve students’ learning experiences.
Makerlabs posted a video of Iris on Instagram, highlighting its potential to improve education. “With IRIS, we’ve set out to revolutionise education by harnessing the power of AI to create a truly personalized learning experience,” they said in a statement.
The movie highlights Iris’ interactive features and its versatility as a teaching tool.
Iris, built as part of the NITI Aayog-initiated Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) initiative, has many features targeted at revolutionising traditional teaching techniques.
Iris, who speaks three languages and can answer complicated questions, provides a customized learning experience for each learner. Its features include voice assistance, interactive learning modules, manipulation capabilities, and mobility, making it an attractive classroom resource.
Makerlabs views Iris as more than simply a robot; it will be an intelligent voice assistant designed specifically for educational situations. Iris, which is powered by Robotics and Generative AI technologies, claims to deliver smooth and responsive performance.
It features an Intel CPU and a specialized coprocessor to provide a full educational experience.
