2020 took a good chunk of charm and talent out of Bollywood with the demise of stars including Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and more. And surely the fact that we won’t be able to see them again on the big screen again is ought to make us sad.

As per the reports, the movie, The Song of Scorpions, starring Irrfan Khan beside Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani as well as Bollywood actor Waheeda Rehman, is scheduled for early 2021 release. The movie had, interestingly, already been premiered at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 2017 but is yet to make it to the big screen.

Directed By Anup Singh, the movie’s plot revolves around a young tribal woman who tries to overcome a brutal betrayal.

“We will be offering this film to the audiences as a tribute to the beloved star of Indian cinema. The era of cinema in India and abroad has benefitted from his acting prowess and we’re happy to have canvassed his swansong,” Abhishek Pathak, producer and director at Panorama Spotlight, said in a statement.

Happens, Irrfan’s son, Babil, some time ago, had already shared a throwback picture from the movie.

Khan plays the role of camel trader in the movie as the still from the movie portrays.
