Japan Introduces New E-Visa System for Indian Citizens

Japan officially launched the Indian nationals’ e-Visa website! Indian nationals wanting to go to Japan would not require a physical visa sticker to enter the country under the new visa regime.

The e-Visa program was formally introduced on April 1st after it was announced in August of the previous year. Indian nationals may apply for electronically generated visas under this new initiative by visiting the official VFS Global visa application centres.

Indian nationals will be eligible to apply for a short-term, single-entry Japanese tourist visa with an e-visa. Both foreign nationals and Indian citizens are eligible to apply for this eVisa.

How to Apply For Japan e-Visa For Indians

The official Visa Application Centers run by VFS Global are where those who qualify must submit their applications for the Japanese e-Visa. Applying for an e-visa is similar to applying for a Japanese visa.

However, the main difference is that those who are successful will be issued an electronic visa rather than having their passports stamped with a visa sticker.

Once at the airport, visitors will need to provide a “visa issuance notice” on their phones to be allowed inside. When you arrive at the airport, you must display the paperwork in its original form. Authorities will not accept any other format, including physical copies, screenshots, PDFs, or photos.

Which Countries Provide An eVisa for Indians?
