Jhansi Railway Station Renamed: CM Yogi Tweets

Jhansi Railway Station of Uttar Pradesh will now be known as Veerangana Lakshmibai Railway Station. CM Yogi Adityanath made the announcement on Wednesday.

Rani Laxmibai was India’s foremost rebel leaders during British Rule. She was queen of Jhansi and died while fighting British forces in June, 1858 in Gwalior.

CM Yogi made the announcement through a tweet.

Uttar Pradesh Government sent a proposal to Union Home Ministry. The consent of Ministry is important to change name of any place. No objection certificate is also to be collected from Union Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts and Survey of India.

The consent is required to confirm if there is a town or village in records with the proposed name.

After all approvals are taken, an executive order is passed. Ministry of Railways then will change the name.

MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweets his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath for changing name of Jhansi Railway Station.
