A 423-seater capacity ‘Jumo Plane’ from Air India is ready to evacuate Indians from ‘Wuhan’. Air India has kept the aircraft ready at the Mumbai airport. Evacuation would take place from Wuhan which is the center of ‘Coronavirus.’
Around 25 Indian students were reported to be trapped in the city. The airline is awaiting necessary approvals from the ministries of External Affairs and Health to operate. Around 250 Indians would are to be evacuated said the officials.
The step comes after the Cabinet Secretary meeting on Monday where the government decided that steps may be taken to prepare for the possible evacuation of Indian nationals in Wuhan.
Ministry of External Affairs would make a request to the Chinese authorities while the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Health will make arrangements for transport and quarantine facilities respectively said the official note.
