Of the various attractions in Shimla, the most sought after and mesmerizing is the Kalka Shimla toy train. Or say, trains for actually there are five in total. And you are to get addicted to this beauty of each one.
From the inside, Kalka-Shimla toy train is a decent looking train, but when you get your head out of the window, you are inundated with scenes that you would never be able to forget.
The first Kalka-Shimla toy train was started in 1903 and today is a UNESCO site and the best way to reach Shimla if you live anywhere near Kalka in Haryana.
The trains take you on a journey through lush green mountains with scenic, misty views and through 103 tunnels and 850 bridges. Though not the safest advice, but one would invariably feel the urge to stand at the doors of the Kalka-Shimla toy train from the beginning of the 5.5 hours journey.

Rail Motor costs approximately Rs 300 while Shivalik Deluxe costs Rs 500. Shimla Kalka Express and Himalayan Queen cost Rs 70 and Rs 260 approximately.
