Kejriwal To Take Oath As Delhi CM For 3rd Time On 16th February

After a thumping 62 seats victory in the Delhi state assembly election, Arvind Kejriwal is all set for a 3rd term. The incumbent Chief Minister (CM) of Delhi would take the oath as CM for the 3rd time on 16th February.

The ceremony would be held at Delhi’s iconic ‘Ramlila Maidan’. ‘Ramlila Maidan’ is the same place from where Kejriwal came in highlight during the 2011 Jan Lokpal protest with Anna Hazare.

As per Election Commission, the AAP won in 62 of the 70 seats with a total vote share of 53.57 percent. BJP was a distant second with 8 setas and 38.51 percent of the total votes. Congress got 4.26 percent vote but failed to grab a single seat.

The victory was quite special for AAP as it came after a severe drubbing in the Lok Sabha polls. “It is the beginning of a new kind of politics today. This is very auspicious message for the country and the politics of work can only take our country to the 21st century,” said Kejriwal after the win.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated Kejriwal for his party’s win and wished him “the very best” in fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
