Andhra Pradesh’s wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat has been called by the BCCI’s selection committee to join the Indian squad as a standby for Rishabh Pant for the 2nd ODI of the series against Australia
Bharat’s call was necessitated as regular keeper Rishabh Pant sustained a mild concussion after being hit by a Pat Cummins delivery on the helmet in the last match at Mumbai. However, Bharat would not take the field as KL Rahul would don the gloves.
Pant was ruled out of the second game of the series keeping in frame the ICC’s recently spelled concussion guidelines.
