A study by Ohio State University has hinted that the glaciers between the Himalayas and the Andes will disappear in less than a decade due to climate change. The report further states that the glaciers in Papua, Indonesia will be the first to disappear, followed by topical glaciers including Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Quelccaya in Peru.
Notably, researchers have been monitoring these glaciers since 2010 and saw a dangerous hike in the melting pace of these glaciers. The researchers found signs of melting at both the top of the glacier and at the bottom. With Glacier melting, sea levels will rise leading to frequent flood occurrences.
