Live Updates on Assembly Elections 2022: Manohar Parrikar’s Son, Snubbed By BJP, To File Goa Nomination Today

Previous Goa Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar’s son Utpal Parrikar, who resigned from the BJP last week from the primary membership of BJP after not being given a ticket from Panjim constituency and fielded Congress party turncoat Atanasio “Babush” Monserrate. and declared he would contest the upcoming assembly election as an independent, is set to file his nomination paper from the seat today. 

According to Earlier Utpal words, he said “I will be contesting as an independent candidate from Panaji constituency. Panjim people voted for Manohar Parrikar all these years because he stood for certain values. I also have those values in me. The time has come for me also to stand up to those values.” Utpal said he shares an immense bond with the people of Panaji.

Also, Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Manipur all five states are set for elections next month. On February 10 the state elections will begin and close with the counting of votes on March 10.

Akali Dal in Punjab has fielded former minister Bikram Singh Majithia from Amritsar (East) seat, he is setting up competition against the state chief of Congress Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu. 

In the meantime, the cradles of Uttar Pradesh, said feelers were sent to Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Jayant Choudhary over the possibility of an understanding.

Also, a rebuff tweeted by  Mr. Choudhary: “The invitation is not for me, give it to those 700 farmer families whose houses you have destroyed!!” The RLD leader has worked out an alliance with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
