The Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said that the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) will bring Uttar Pradesh based model legislation for love jihad in Kerala if it comes to power in Kerala. He also said that the BJP would also ensure that the administration of devaswom boards was given to true devotees.

These both assurances would also be a part of the election manifesto of the Bharatiya Janta Party which is likely to announce soon. Mr Gowda claimed that Kerala has become a hub for love jihad and the Christian community is specifically targeted in the state. The devaswom boards are the centre of CPI (M) activities.

Additionally, he said that “I will assure the people of Kerala that if my party comes to power, we will make sure that all these devaswom boards are abolished for the time being and believers take over their charge’’.

Mr Gowda alleged that CM Pinarayi Vijayan has maintained a “dictatorial attitude” in the state. Also, he failed to uphold and maintain transparency in administration, which was a fundamental requirement in a democracy.
