We all know that photos in government IDs can go horrifically wrong. However, rarely it can turn you into other species. This has happened with a man from West Bengal. Sunil Karmakar, a resident of Ramnagar village in Murshidabad is the one we are talking about. Sunil has been issued a voter ID card with a dog’s picture on it.
The incident highlights the height of irresponsibility with which the department has worked. The Block Development Officer (BDO) has apologized for the incident and said a revised Voter ID would be issued soon.
“Yesterday I was called at Dulal Smriti School and this voter ID card was given to me. I saw the photo. The officer there signed and gave it to me but he didn’t see the photo. This is playing with my dignity. I will go to the BDO office and request that this should not happen again”, said Sunil.
