Retired boxing champion Mike Tyson on his podcast, ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’ on Monday admitted to smoking $40,000 (Rs. 28 lakh) worth of cannabis every month. He, apparently, gets his hand on this amount of weed from his 40-acre marijuana farm.
The chatter began with Tyson asking his co-host, former NFL player turned marijuana advocate Eben Britton, “What do we smoke a month? Is it $40,000 a month?” To which Britton replied, “We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month,” pointing to the marijuana farm called ‘Tyson Ranch’.
Immediately after, the 53-year-old retired boxer asked, “Is that crazy?” the guest, rapper Jim Jones, said, “$40,000 of weed a month? That’s a lot of weed blowing down there. That’s nonstop, every second weed right there.”

Located in Mojave desert, Tyson launched the ranch after California made cannabis legal back in 2018. The farm sells nine strains of cannabis flowers and potent extracts to dispensaries across California and Las Vegas. The same garners him a monthly revenue of $500,000.

Dwelling into history, Tyson was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles. His boxing potential was discovered by a juvenile detention center counselor. Moreover, Tyson is the youngest heavyweight champion claiming the title at a tender age of 20. After the 1992 rape convictions, he spent three years in prison.
After his release from prison in 1995, Tyson continued to box, however, in 2005, he retired with 50 wins out of 58 matches.
