Mukul Arya, Indian Ambassador Found Dead In Palestine

Mukul Arya, a 2008 batch Indian Foreign Services officer was found dead on office premises in Ramallah city of Palestine. Union Minister of External Affairs S Jayshankar first shared the news about saddened demise of Indian diplomat. The cause of his death is not known yet.

S Jayshankar tweeted “Deeply shocked to learn about the passing away of India’s Representative at Ramallah, Shri Mukul Arya. He was a bright and talented officer with so much before him. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti.”

Response Of Palestine Government

Foreign Ministry of Palastine said that the news is a great astonishment and shock for the country. In a statement it said, “As soon as this painful news arrived, immediate instructions were issued from President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh to all the security, police and public authorities, in addition to the Ministry of Health and Forensic Medicine, to immediately move to the place of residence of the Indian ambassador Mukul Arya to closely monitor the case of death.”

It further added, “All parties are fully prepared to do what is required of them in such difficult and emergency circumstances. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants expresses its deep sadness, loss and pain at the death of Ambassador Arya.” The ministry has informed that it is in touch with Ministry of External Affairs to complete arrangements for transferring of mortal remains of Mukul Arya.

Educational Background And Services Of Mukul Arya

Mukul Arya had studied economics has Delhi University and Jawahar Lal Nehru University after which he cleared civil services examination to join Indian Foreign Service. He joined the services in 2008 and had served in Kabul and Moscow. Mukul also worked at the ministry in New Delhi for some time. He was also India’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO in Paris. He was an excellent officer and great scholar whose absence would be missed by the nation.
