You must have come across different things while travelling in a Mumbai local. Pickpocketers, neverending crowd, and late trains are quite normal. But did you ever imagine seeing someone give birth at a railway platform?
Giving birth to a baby is a magical phenomenon in itself. On Christmas Eve, a CCTV footage captured Mumbai police helping a lady with her delivery by making a labor room.
What exactly happened?
CCTV footage captured a 21-years-old lady giving birth at the platform of Dadar railway station. Just like always, there was a lot of commotion at the station.
After all, it was Christmas Eve and the platform was jam-packed with locals going out of town to spend it with their families.
But it became a memorable evening for a female passenger waiting at the same station. A 21-year-old lady, Geeta Deepak Wagare and her husband were on the platform waiting for a train to Pune. While they were waiting, Geeta felt uncomfortable. The bump on her stomach clearly showed that she was pregnant.
She was hoping it was not what she dreaded, but soon the inevitable happened. She went into labor.
From the viral CCTV footage, it can be seen that the woman was lying on the floor of the platform with her husband sitting by her side. They know, the railway platform is not a good place to be, in a situation like this, but they could do anything to stop it.
Luckily, a few policemen rushed towards the couple to help them with their inconvenient situation. Along with the policemen, few other travelers also stopped by to help the lady. Policemen tried to make calls to arrange a way to take her to the hospital. But when nothing worked, three other ladies and policemen covered the pregnant lady by holding up the bedsheets to make a labor room.
This beautiful instance of Mumbai police helping a lady with her delivery was captured on CCTV and soon went viral.
The delivery was successful and both the lady and her baby were rushed to the hospital for further medical care.
