National Cinema Day Returns: Enjoy ‘Any Movie, Any Show’ for Only Rs 99

National Cinema Day will return in 2023, following its huge success last year. The one-day event, coordinated by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and top cinema chains, aims to make movie-watching more affordable, with tickets priced at a flat Rs 99 across the country’s cinema halls. The MAI released information regarding this year’s National Cinema Day.

When is National Cinema Day 2023?

The Multiplex Association of India issued a statement on Thursday announcing this year’s National Cinema Day. “Mark your calendars for Friday, October 13th, as The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and cinemas all over India unite once again to bring you National Cinema Day,” the announcement said. On that day, tickets at most major theatre chains and single screens in India would cost Rs 99. According to MAI, nearly 4,000 movie halls from throughout India will participate in this project this year.

Which Cinema Halls And Chains Will Take Part In National Cinema Day 2023?

According to MAI, “National Cinema Day this year will unfold across more than 4000 participating screens, including renowned cinemas like PVR INOX, CINEPOLIS, MIRAJ, CITYPRIDE, ASIAN, MUKTA AZ, MOVIE TIME, WAVE, M2K, DELITE, and many others.” Several single-screen owners are expected to participate, as they did last year. The MAI has stated that there may be extra incentives on tickets and food and beverage, which will be announced at participating theatres, on their websites, and on their social media platforms.

On September 23, approximately 65 lakh tickets were sold in one day, making National Cinema Day 2022 a smashing success. Several cinemas reported housefull audiences for the first time in years, and collections for films showing at the time increased.

Which Films Are Likely To Benefit?

There are no notable releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, or other languages on October 13th. However, a few releases from previous weeks are likely to be still active. The Vaccine War, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, will be released on September 28 with Fukrey 3. Mission Raniganj, which was released on October 6, would also benefit. Muttiah Muralitharan’s Tamil biography 800, as well as Vijay Antony’s Raththam, will be released on the same day.
