Everyone who counts on their friend for the Netflix entertainment in their life, here is a deal.
Netflix India has come up with once in a lifetime offer where it would allow every Indian to access Netflix free of cost for a weekend. This seems to be a very short version of the 30-day free trial that Netflix used to offer initially in India.
Netflix’s Chief Product Officer, Greg Peters, detailing about the offer said that all the trial thing is just “an example of the kind of innovation” that the company has planned. This, as per the chief, will introduce new people to the streaming platform and might get them hooked thereafter.
The details of when the plan would be available in India has not been revealed yet.
“[W]e think that giving everyone in a country access to Netflix for free for a weekend could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories that we have, the service, how the service works, really create an event, and hopefully get a bunch of those folks to sign up,” Peters said in the interview with Barclays’ media analyst Kannan Venkateshwar.
Currently, Netflix sells four different plans in India. The mobile plan starts at ₹199 followed by the Basic plan which can be purchased at ₹499. Netflix also offers a Standard and Premium Plan for ₹649 and ₹799 respectively.
