Promoting digitalization at its best, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has released a new version of the mAadhaar app with some really cool out of the box features.
The app as the name suggests lets users access their Aadhaar details (card number, DOB, address and more) digitally, on the phone, which they can use to avail various Aadhaar related services.
Beyond that, the new version of the mAadhaar App also comes tucked along with an array of app transforming features. Have a look.
Lock Your Biometrics From The Phone
The updated mAadhaar app comes with a biometric lock feature that lets you lock your biometrics – both fingerprint and iris scan. The biometrics once locked can only be accessed by you. The feature thwarts the possibility of the third party gaining unauthorized access to your Aadhaar card details.
Aadhaar Details Sharing Via QR Code
The new Aadhaar app has a dedicated option that allows an Aadhaar holder to share their details via a QR code. The option can be accessed from the mAadhaar section and then clicking on either the ‘Show QR Code’ or ‘Generate VID’ option.
This will generate a QR code that you can scan whenever needed. The features save you from the hassle of sharing your Aadhaar number.
Check Authentication History
This new feature delivers an option to check the history, that details all the instances when your Aadhaar card was used. The option under the “My Aadhaar” section would send an OTP for verification and also provide date and other options for filtering results.
