No Bhajan-Kirtan, No Prasad Allowed As Religious Institutions Open From 8th June

As the government has allowed the places of worship to open from Monday new rules have come. In Unlock 1 as the cases of COVID-19 are on the rise your religious experience would not be the same as in post coronavirus times. The government has clearly spelled out guidelines that strictly ensures social distancing.

No big gatherings and even no bhajan-kirtan would be allowed for the devotees. Further, no offerings to the gods and receiving of prasad, vermillion dots, or holy water would be allowed. Also, the guidelines say that no physical singing and only recorded music should be played as far as possible.

Even touching of idols would also be not allowed. The use of masks and social distancing as part of the safety measures would have to be managed strictly by the devotees and the managing authorities. Separate entry and exits for visitors have also been called for under the guidelines. Here are some more updates from the guidelines:

  • Only asymptomatic people can be allowed.
  • Due washing of hands and feet with soap and water before entering the premises of any religious place.
  • Common prayer mats should be avoided and devotees tod bring their own.
  • Touching of statues, idols, icons, or holy books are not allowed.
