After PM Modi called for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat‘ that is self-reliant India in his speech yesterday a new order came today. Home Minister Amit Shah said that only made in India products would be sold in the CAPF canteens.
The home minister tweeted that this would be in line with the call that PM Made yesterday. As per the tweet from 1st June Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) canteens across the country would have only ‘made in India’ products. The vocal for the local mantra of PM also urged the citizens to promote the use of local products instead of the foreign ones.
“Ministry of Home Affairs has decided only indigenous products will be sold at all CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) canteens from 1st June 2020. This would lead to consumption of made in India products by 50 lakh families of 10 lakh CAPF personnel”, tweeted the home minister.
Earlier in 2014, the government rolled out Make in India program. It was aimed to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India and enthuse with dedicated investments into manufacturing. The initiative didn’t get a response as expected.
