ONDC To Set Strong Competition Against Zomato and Swiggy

A price comparison was conducted to understand the price difference between all the applications. The price of the “Big Tandoori Paneer Burger” from Cafe Coffee Day cost Rs.359 in both Swiggy and Zomato while the same cost Rs.270 in ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce).

What is ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce)

The government-backed-up ONDC allows its customers to order food, cabs, groceries, electronics, clothes, and movie tickets. Just like Amazon is the hub of products and customers while the ONDC is the hub of all products and services. Ondc will be a complete application to order food, cabs, groceries, electronics, clothes, and book movie tickets.

ONDC is not a separate application instead ONDC works like UPI, which means that it is added to Paytm, PhonePe, and many others. Ondc has more than 30000 sellers onboarded selling more than 35 lakh products.

You can use ONDC via the Paytm application. You just need to go on the Paytm application and type “ONDC” in the search bar and now you can easily order food from the restaurant. You should keep in mind that not every restaurant is onboarded on ONDC for selling food as it is comparatively new.

How To Order Through ONDC?

• To place an order you first need to visit the ONDC website – https://ondc.org/
• After you have to click on the “Shop on ONDC” tab on the homepage.
• Now you have to select the platform you wish to order from.
• In the next step, you have to click on “Shop Now’. Ondc is currently available on various platforms such as Paytm, Mystore, Craftsvilla, To Life Bani, Meesho, Pincode, and Maginpin.
• Now you just have to select the items you wish to order as you usually do on other platforms.
• Lastly, you just have to make the payment. Voila! you’re done with the order.
