Parliament’s Winter Session To Being From 18th November

After a high on highlight monsoon (also the budget session of the new government) session that saw the dilution of special status of J&K Parliament is all set for its second session post the elections.

The winter session of Parliament would start from November 18th and would go on for 20 odd days till December 13th. During the session the issue of communication shutdown and lockdown of leaders in J&K is expected to be raised by the opposition.

Economic slowdown and poor performance of India on global fronts like the recently released Global Hunger Index would also be on opposition radar. However, from the perspective of government, they would find themselves in a comfortable position in Rajya Sabha where they found it tough to get the bills through earlier due to shortage of strength.

This winter session would be a short one considering the parliamentary norms whereby a regular winter session lasts till Christmas. The Budget session would follow the short winter session in January-February.
