New Vandebharat Express Service to Connect Patna and Howrah in August

Bihar will receive another Vande Bharat Express train in August month. Preparations are on to launch this semi-high-speed train on the Patna-Howrah line this month. The Vande Bharat train, which would provide the quickest rail link from Patna to Kolkata, West Bengal’s capital, has been completed. The semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express train between Patna and Howrah is expected to begin service in the first or second week of August. Although the final date has yet to be determined.

Patna to Howrah Vande Bharat

After the successful introduction of the train on the Patna-Ranchi route on June 27, this would be the second Vande Bharat Express for Bihar. Birendra Kumar, ECR’s Chief Public Relations Officer, stated that efforts are being made to successfully launch the Vande Bharat train on the Patna-Howrah line. 

On Sunday, a high-level conference was held through video conferencing between East Central Railway (ECR) Headquarters and top railway officials from the Danapur branch.

Route For The Train

The railways have begun ground preparations to run the flagship Vande Bharat Express on the Patna-Howrah line, according to a senior railway official in Danapur. Train schedules and tariffs and charges are being finalized, he noted. Tracks on the Patna-Jhajha-Asansol-Howrah main line of both ECR and Eastern Railway (ER) are being strengthened.

Danapur Division Has Finished Its Preparations.

If the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express travels at its typical speed of 90 kmph to 110 kmph, it would cover 535 km in roughly seven hours. According to a senior railway official, Vande Bharat’s top speed is roughly 160 km per hour. Danapur division is now awaiting the arrival of the rake from Chennai.

The fare for Vande Bharat on the Patna-Howrah line has yet to be determined by the railways. The ticket for AC executive class is going to be Rs 2,650 per passenger and Rs 1,450 per passenger for AC chair vehicles, according to sources. This will include lunch and snacks. Aside from that, the railways have still to work on train stoppages. However, it is expected to halt just in Asansol and Jasidih.
