PF Update: Want To Change Jobs? Know-How To Transfer EPF Account Online

The trend and use of smartphones and increase in digitization in India allow getting most of the tasks instantly and easily. One of the most featured facilities is to access and transfer EPF account online. Also, employees can physically go to Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) office to request to transfer the account.

Whenever, an employee change job, he/she can transfer the PF account to a new employer instead of closing the PF account. However, transferring the PF account to a new employer requires the following steps and documents.

Keep Following Documents Ready For PF Transfer

  • Valid Identity Proof (Aadhar, PAN or Driving License)
  • Revised Form 13
  • Current and old details of the PF account
  • Keep the EPFO registered mobile number active
  • An active UAN in the UAN portal
  • An approved e-KYC from the employer
  • Establishment Number
  • PF Account Number
  • Bank account details of the salary account
  • Current employer’s details

Steps To Transfer of PF Online

Want to transfer your previous PF account to a new employer, simply follow these steps.

Step 1: Log in to the EPFO portal online using your UAN and password.

Step 2: Now from the main menu, hit on the ‘online services’ tab

Step 3: Then, select the option ‘Transfer request.

Step 4: Verify your date of joining, EPF number, date of birth and other details.

Step 5: Once you complete the process, submit the transfer request.

Step 6: Hit on the ‘get details’ tab and enter the details correctly.

Step 7: Click on submit option, and then an OTP will be generated to your registered mobile number. 

Step 8: Verify the OTP and press the ‘submit button.

Step 9: Your employer will also get the notification of the PF transfer request online.

Step 10: Wait till the employer verifies your details and approves the EPF transfer request digitally.
