‘Plasma Therapy’ Showing Encouraging Results In Treating COVID-19 Patient, Says CM Kejriwal

After the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) gave approval to the therapy Delhi hospitals have taken to action. Delhi government has started treating COVID-19 patients with “convalescent-plasma therapy. The move has bought some good news as well.

Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal said that results are ‘encouraging’. “In the last few days, we have tried plasma therapy on 4 patients at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital. Till now the results are encouraging“, said CM Kejriwal.

As a part of the therapy, blood is drawn from a person who has recovered from coronavirus. The serum is separated and screened for virus-neutralizing antibodies. The convalescent serum is then administered to a COVID-19 patient. The Delhi CM also urged recovered coronavirus patients to donate their blood plasma to save lives.
